Call for Tutorial Proposals

The 28th International Conference on Distributed Computing and Networking (ICDCN 2027) invites submissions for Tutorial proposals on all topics related to distributed computing and networking. Tutorials are expected to take place in parallel with the workshops and main conference tracks.

The length of each tutorial is 1.5 – 2.5 hours (flexible). At least one organizer of an accepted tutorial is required to attend the conference to carry out the presentation. Proposal evaluation criteria include relevance to ICDCN, scientific quality, perceived interest, and overlap with ICDCN tutorials in the past.

Tutorial proposals should be no more than two pages (excluding the biography of the presenters) using 11-point or larger fonts, in a single-column, single-space format with reasonable margins, on letter-size or A4 paper.

Topics of Interest

The scope of tutorials tentatively includes, but is not limited to, the following areas:

Algorithms & Theory

  • Theoretical aspects of distributed algorithms: design, analysis, and complexity
  • Dynamic and/or adaptive distributed algorithms
  • Quantum and optics-based distributed algorithms
  • Nanonetworks and biological distributed algorithms
  • Game-theoretic approaches to distributed computing

Networks & Systems

  • 6G networks and beyond
  • Semantic communications
  • Communication networks: algorithms, architectures, services, protocols
  • Wireless networks, mobile computing, autonomous agents and robots
  • Sensor, mesh, and ad hoc networks
  • Peer-to-peer systems, overlay networks, distributed data management

Computing & Infrastructure

  • Multiprocessor and multi-core architectures, programming, and algorithms
  • High-performance, cluster, cloud and grid computing
  • Context-aware distributed systems
  • Distributed operating systems, middleware platforms, databases
  • Fault-tolerance, reliability, availability, self-organization
  • Coding theory and reliable communication

Security & Emerging

  • Security in distributed computing, cryptographic protocols
  • Distributed cryptocurrencies and blockchain protocols
  • Distributed algorithms for machine learning
  • Social networks and recommendation systems
  • Specification, semantics, verification of concurrent systems

Submission Guidelines

Each proposal (maximum two pages, excluding presenter biographies) must include the following sections:

A clear and descriptive title for the proposed tutorial.

Names and Affiliations

Full names and institutional affiliations of all presenters.

03

Abstract

A concise abstract summarizing the tutorial content and objectives.

Introduction

An introduction to the topic and its significance to the ICDCN community.

05

Scope, Motivation & Summary

A summary of the tutorial covering scope and motivation. If the organizers have had a similar tutorial in the past, a brief history and description.

Target Audience & Relevance

Description of the target audience and relevance to ICDCN 2027 research topics.

07

Tutorial Outline

Sections with an overview of their contents and expected time length for each part.

08

Biographies of Presenters

Short biographies for all presenters (not counted in the 2-page limit).
