Call for Workshop Proposals

The Organizing Committee of the 28th International Conference on Distributed Computing and Networking (ICDCN 2027) invites proposals for one-day or half-day workshops affiliated with the conference. Workshops should emphasize current topics of interest within the broader areas of Distributed Computing and Communication Networks.

While ICDCN workshops cover all topics part of the main conference tracks, we encourage topics that are futuristic while in the broader scope of distributed computing and networking, focused towards the interest of a subset of the participants. The objective of these workshops is to enable stimulating discussions on state-of-the-art, emerging, visionary, and perhaps controversial topics.

The workshops may include a mix of regular papers, invited presentations, and panels that encourage active participation and discussion. Workshop papers will be published in a companion proceedings along with the main conference proceedings. Workshop organisers should follow the ACM Peer Review Policy while accepting papers.

Practical Considerations

Workshop organizers should take into account the following practical requirements:

Registration

ICDCN 2027 will follow a single registration fee for the entire 4-day event. There will be no workshop-only registration fee. At least one author of an accepted paper must register and present in person.

Unified Deadlines

All workshops for ICDCN 2027 must share the same deadlines (notification of acceptance and camera-ready). Deadline extensions must be coordinated with the Workshop and Publication Chair(s).

In-Person Only

All workshops are planned to be held in person. All workshops must have identical start, end, and break times to facilitate greater interactions among participants.

Workshop Website & Submission

Individual workshop organizers are responsible for setting up their paper submission site, review process, and individual web page design in coordination with the ICDCN 2027 Web Chair(s).

Keynote Speakers

Workshop organizers are welcome to invite keynote speakers. Regularly, no financial support will be available from ICDCN to cover workshop keynote speaker costs. Organizers should seek sponsoring options independently if necessary.

Acceptance Rate

The ICDCN steering committee has set an upper limit of 40% on the acceptance rate for ICDCN Workshop papers. Organizers of accepted workshops are expected to adhere to this rate.

Conflict of Interest

Workshop organisers must declare potential conflicts of interest (CoI) for submitted papers. A CoI paper is one where: (i) at least one organizer is a co-author, or (ii) all organizers handling the paper have a CoI with the authors. Such papers will be handled by the workshop chairs directly. For any confusion about CoI, contact the workshop chairs.

Open Access Publishing (ACM)

ICDCN 2027 workshop proceedings will be published as a companion volume along with the main conference proceedings via ACM ICPS. Please note that ACM has moved to a new open access publishing model. Authors may be required to pay an Article Processing Charge (APC) if their organization is not a member of the ACM Open program.
